Who are we?

The IUKO are are group of like minded senior Western Karateka who have tired of the infighting and political turmoil present in modern day karate organizations. We adhere to all the principles of Shotokan Karate Do. We do not share a top down mentality of do it my way or else. We want to feature as many senior karateka as possible and choose who to introduce our students to no matter their style or organizational ties. We do not demand respect but earn it everyday by our students worldwide. We provide a safe learning environment and welcome questions. We also welcome feedback by our students in how to make our organization stronger. Lead by well over 200 years of experience our technical board includes the following:

Salvatore Lopresti Sr. 7th Dan, Chief Instructor

Ron Romano, 7th Dan, Technical Director
